Penny Pfaelzer’s background includes numerous successes in national media relations, reputation management, consumer affairs, business-to-business programming, economic development, special events and strategic positioning.
Ms. Pfaelzer has been a public relations practitioner for more than 30 years. She is a partner in PfaelzerJohns, Inc., that produces image-building campaigns for Korean Air, Valley Metro Rail, United Phoenix Firefighters and the City of Phoenix. Prior to forming PfaelzerJohns, Ms. Pfaelzer was a senior vice president in the Los Angeles office of Ogilvy & Mather Public Relations, one of the world’s top 10 public relations firms. She supervised accounts such as Korean Air and Mercedes-Benz and was called into work on a number of medical marketing accounts.
During her public relations tenure, Ms. Pfaelzer worked with major international public relations agencies including Hill & Knowlton, Ketchum and Shandwick.
Ms. Pfaelzer, along with Anne Johns, founded one of Arizona’s most successful public relations and marketing firms. The consultancy, purchased by Chicago-based Cramer Krasselt Advertising, served clients such as the City of Phoenix, Merrill Lynch, Southwest Airlines, Penn Racquet Sports, Browning-Ferris Industries (BFI) and TRW.
Ms. Pfaelzer was graduated with a degree in psychology from the University of Arizona. She is a member of the Counselors Academy of the Public Relations Society of America.
