Amy Goldsmith is the founder and president of GK Communications, Inc., a Los Angeles based public relations consulting firm with specialized skills in corporate communications.
An award-winning practitioner with more than a decade of journalism, marketing, media and public relations experience, Goldsmith has worked with some the world’s best-known companies helping to create and implement their internal and external public relations and marketing campaigns. In addition to traditional communications consulting, she also provides executives and sales forces with corporate media and public speaking training and image consulting.
Currently, Goldsmith represents companies in a wide array of industries including food, natural products, fashion, healthcare and financial services. Goldsmith’s experience include campaigns for the World Shoe Association, American Business Bank, Pharmaca Integrated Pharmacy, ZonePerfect Nutrition Company, Phil Lempert aka the SupermarketGuru, The Davis-Maltin Law Firm and more.
Before founding GK Communications, Goldsmith was director of global Marketing and Public Relations for US Interactive, a publicly traded Internet professional services company. Goldsmith advised on the communication aspects of various corporate and business initiatives from mergers and acquisitions and regional expansions to general public relations, branding, internal employee communications and overall marketing strategies.
Prior to joining US Interactive, Goldsmith was the associate director of Development Marketing and Communications at City of Hope National Medical Center, a leading cancer research and treatment center and one of the Country’s top 10 charities. During her tenure, Goldsmith helped manage a 30 person staff and was responsible for overseeing the Video and Publications Departments, the Development Center Web site, and creating general marketing strategies.
A former journalist, Goldsmith was a television news reporter for KCOY-TV (CBS) in Santa Maria, California. As a reporter, Goldsmith interviewed President Clinton, Elizabeth and Senator Bob Dole, Newt Gingrich and former Texas Governor Ann Richards, among others. She also has reported for The Nashville Network (TNN) and has appeared on “Week in Review with Bill Rosendahl” on Adelphia Cable.
Prior to her television work, Goldsmith was an assistant news director, reporter and announcer at KUHL-AM (ABC), the top rated radio news station in Central California. Goldsmith hosted a daily morning news show and a weekly public affairs show.
Before joining the media, Goldsmith began her career with Ogilvy PR, where she worked on various accounts ranging from technology and healthcare to sporting equipment, automotive and political issue campaigns. In addition, throughout her career, Goldsmith has worked freelance for several of Los Angeles’s largest and most successful agencies.
Goldsmith has won several awards including a PRo Award from the Public Communicators of Los Angeles and an Ace Award from the International Association Business Communicators. Goldsmith graduated with a degree in political science from UCLA.
